We were referred to Kenny by a friend and we are so grateful for it! We brought our puppy, Margot, when she was around 5-6 months and she had basic commands down. When we making the decision to bring our dog to a trainer, we really wanted someone who could not only train her, but also train us on how to train her. That's why Kenny's your guy. He works amazing with dogs, but he was also able to explain commands to us in a way we can really understand it (I love his use of analogies). After six sessions, our dog Margot is doing better than ever and we also feel confident that we can carry on our training even after our sessions with Kenny are finished. Highly recommend and know you won't regret it!

Kenny has been an expert guide and trainer for us. We recently adopted a 2 year old pup and we were having issues with trying to train him. That’s when we found Kenny and our life with has improved 10 fold ever since. His innovative techniques are not just for the pup but also for the owner. This is our first dog. And Kenny helped us so much in understanding him and letting us enjoy training rather than dread it like we used to.

I'm so glad my neighbor told me about K9 Kenny dog training! I took both our dogs to him and my only regret is not going years earlier. With Kenny's expert instruction, we were able to break some negative behavioral habits that were making life with them challenging - including leash pulling and one of the pups barking at my partner whenever he hugged me. Kenny trained me as much as he trained the dogs. Do yourself a favor and go see Kenny for help. Worth every penny.

Before working with Kenny, Rigby was tough to go on walks with (leash pulling, lunging at other animals) and it was even more stressful when we had company over. Rigby always wanted to be the first to greet a visitor by jumping on them or licking excessively. I was tired of apologizing for Rigby's unruly behavior. Kenny addressed each issue with precision and care. His training methods were not only effective but also humane, ensuring that Rigby responded positively every step of the way. One of the most rewarding aspects of Kenny's training is seeing Rigby's newfound confidence and obedience. Now, when we have company, Rigby is a joy to be around. Instead of causing chaos, she receives praise for her well-mannered demeanor—a testament to Kenny's expertise and the effectiveness of his techniques. Beyond just training Rigby, Kenny also provided us with valuable insights and strategies to maintain and reinforce her positive behaviors. Kenny's ongoing support and willingness to answer any questions have been invaluable as we continue to build upon Rigby's progress.

Kenny is an excellent trainer and guide. Each session was a new experience, elevating our dog's abilities and our knowledge. He was very careful to not over work our dog and to ensure we were not jumping ahead. He gave great direction in his training followups after each session. His schedule is flexible and always open to adjusting as needed based on weather. We have seen so much improvement in a short time, but it's a long term plan, don't expect immediate results. It takes time and it's worth it. Thanks Kenny!

We came to Kenny recommended by some good friends and we started training our puppy with him when he was only four months old. Kenny was great at communicating with us, and not only taught our pup basic obedience commands but also would have us practice and correct us along the way. His advice has been great and our dog loves going to his classes! We all learned so much with him and would definitely recommend to other dog parents out there.

I have a 11mo old husky, the most stubborn/sassy/maniac wild thing you've ever seen and he didn't even bat an eye! He was able to teach her everything and he taught us everything so we can keep it going. I hear so much about how people spend money on training and don't keep it up at home so it's for nothing, and this is NOT the case. He's magical. I'd 1000% recommend him without even thinking. If he can make my baby walk like an angel on a leash, or stay on "place" for over an hour without breaking the command, he can literally do anything. Book him now :)

We just completed a 6 week program with Kenny and we couldn't be happier! Kenny personalized each lesson to fit Benji (and us too) and gave us so much guidance during the training and also after, for he sends detailed emails that covers everything we went over during the training. Kenny is very personable, knowledgeable, and funny which made each training session very worth the hour drive we made from Johnson City. We learned how to go on pleasant walks along with the "place", "come" and "free" commands that have changed our household. We will certainly return for advance training in the future with Kenny!

Mission Statement

At K9 Kenny, my mission is to see that every dog owner I work with ends up with a well-mannered, obedient, and happy dog free of behavior issues. Too many dog owners are frustrated by owning an unmanageable dog and instead of seeking training to resolve the situation, they just stop walking the dog altogether or avoid difficult situations such as going near other dogs, eating in the dog’s presence, or babying the dog too much. This usually leads to the dog becoming that much more difficult. It can be a vicious cycle, and it’s one I am determined to stop! Using my proven effective teaching and training skills, I train the dog out of unruly behaviors and teach you to maintain your dog’s good behavior. This results in a powerful owner-dog relationship and ensures that the training lasts a lifetime. Working together, we teach your dog to be obedient and respectful by introducing structure and discipline. My methods address resolving behavioral issues as well as teaching basic and advanced obedience. I always see to it that the training sessions are not just effective but fun as well as training should be an enjoyable experience for both owner and dog alike!

Why Training Your Dog is Essential

My name is Kenny. I am a certified dog trainer in Austin, Texas. People often ask me how important it is to get their dog trained. Here is what I tell them:

“A trained dog helps make for a happy and harmonious household. There are three things a dog needs to live a happy life: physical exercise, mental exercise and communication. It is communication where training enters the equation. Dogs need to know the rules and need to know who is in charge. Without structure they are easily confused and this usually leads to unwanted behaviors. When you walk your dog he should be heeling by your side not pulling six front feet of you. That will help avoid unnecessary confrontations with other dogs. When you come to a door your dog should automatically sit and wait for you to allow him to go through the door. If you drop food on the floor your dog should look to you for permission to eat it. When guests visit, your dog should not jump on them. Basic obedience training will set the ground rules and create good behaviors while helping to eliminate the unwanted ones. Once your dog knows you are his friend and have his back but are still the unquestioned alpha dog, communication will have been established. A trained dog is indeed a happy dog.”
