K9 Kenny Dog Training
& Behavior Modification Specialist in Austin, Texas
My name is Kenny Scotch, and I am a Certified Canine Specialist. Since graduating in 2015 from Starmark Academy, a top ranked dog training school here in Texas, I have been a fulltime canine obedience and behavior modification specialist. K9Kenny is a one-man operation which means that the person you will see working with you and your dog will always only be Kenny. That is not the case at the majority of dog training operations. I do have one assistant who will be aiding me at times however, and that is my two-year-old Belgian Malinois mix Mojo.
Are you tired of… your dog pulling on the leash?
Are you frustrated by… repeating your commands?
Are you unable to… get your dog to come when called?
Wouldn’t it be great if… your dog obeyed on the first command?
Wouldn’t it be a pleasure to have… your dog walking calmly by your side?

Five Paws Up!
We recently worked with Kenny of K9 Kenny to train our puppy, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the start, Kenny was incredibly professional and communicative, making sure we were always informed and comfortable with each step of the process.
Not only did he train our puppy, but he also took the time to teach both my husband and me how to effectively work with our dog. Kenny’s approach is thorough and thoughtful—he explains the context behind your pet's behavior, which really helps in understanding how to address various issues. His follow-up emails are detailed and provide great reinforcement for what was covered during the lessons.
What stands out most about Kenny is how genuinely he cares about helping both pets and their owners. He tailored the training sessions to meet our specific needs, ensuring that we focused on the areas that were most important to us. He's always happy to answer any behavioral questions, and he never pushes the dog too hard during lessons. He’s incredibly in tune with the dog’s mental fatigue and adjusts the training accordingly, ensuring that the experience is positive and productive for everyone involved.
We would absolutely recommend Kenny to anyone in need of dog training. If we ever find ourselves needing more help in the future, we’ll definitely be reaching out to Kenny again. Thanks, Kenny!

K9 Kenny's Mission
At K9 Kenny, my mission is to see that every dog owner I work with ends up with a well-mannered, obedient, and happy dog free of behavior issues. Too many dog owners are frustrated by having an unmanageable dog and instead of seeking training to resolve the situation, they just stop walking the dog altogether or avoid difficult situations such as going near other dogs, eating in the dog’s presence, or babying the dog too much. This usually leads to the dog becoming that much more difficult. It can be a vicious cycle, and it’s one I am determined to stop!
Using my proven effective teaching and training skills, I train the dog out of unruly behaviors and teach you to maintain your dog’s good behavior. This results in a powerful owner-dog relationship and ensures that the training lasts a lifetime. Working together, we teach your dog to be obedient and respectful by introducing structure and discipline. My methods address resolving behavioral issues as well as teaching basic and advanced obedience. I always see to it that the training sessions are not just effective but fun as well as training should be an enjoyable experience for both owner and dog alike!
Why Your Dog Needs Training
As a certified dog trainer in Austin, Texas, people often ask me how important it is to get their dog trained. Here is what I tell them:
“A trained dog helps make for a happy and harmonious household. There are three things a dog needs to live a happy life: physical exercise, mental exercise and communication. It is communication where training enters the equation. Dogs need to know the rules and need to know who is in charge. Without structure they are easily confused and this usually leads to unwanted behaviors.
